Kathmandu, Aug 8 : Nepal Army Brigadier General Tara Bahadur Karki confirmed that all seven people, including a new-born on-board a Fishtail Air helicopter that crashed Bhetini in Nuwakot district on Monday, have been confirmed dead.
The wreckage of the crashed chopper was found at Tucche cliff of Bhetini, reports the Kathmandu Post. The chopper took off from Gorkha area this afternoon after airlifting the new-born for treatment in Kathmandu with her mother.
Captain Ranjan Limbu, Staff Nurse Nisha Tamang, one Laxmi Gurung, Kitman Gurung of Siddhadhibas, Gorkha, his wife Aagyani, Priti Gurung, 19, and her five-day-old son, have been killed.
Brigadier General Karki added that a rescue team of Nepal Army Shreenath Battalion have reached the crash site.
Earlier, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal spokesperson Devendra KC said that bad weather was preventing the search operation.
Reports suggest that crash site is 5,500ft above the sea level and the 9N-AKA chopper last made contact with air traffic control tower at 1:00 p.m.
