Bhubaneswar, April 17 : The overall tax generation in Odisha in financial year 2017-18 has shown a growth of around 19 percent against the last financial year, said an official on Tuesday.
The government has collected Rs 36,729.51 crore tax during 2017-18, while total revenue collection from own tax sources reached Rs 28,682.56 crore during the year, thereby recording a growth of 25.51 per cent.
The revenue collection from non-tax sources during the same fiscal has also reached Rs 8,047 crore, said Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi here.
Reviewing the trend of revenue collection, Padhi directed the departments to focus on the collection of arrear revenue on different establishments.
The departments were further advised to make "case to case analysis" of the long pending cases and finalize those on the basis of one-time settlement.
Deliberating over various revenue prospects of the state for the current fiscal year, Padhi directed to scale up the total revenue generation by 10 per cent over 2017-18.
The departments were asked to work out their revenue generation roadmap accordingly.
