Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 8 :Talking about his upcoming movie written by his wife Twinkle Khanna, 'Pad Man,' Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar said that the movie highlights the issue of sanitary pad affordability in India.
While talking to IPS officers here in Bhopal, Lhiladi Kumar said, "I am making a film in Maheshwar nearby Indore.
It is one beautiful city and every morning when I wake up, I see sun rise and sun set from Narmada river.
I am making a film here and the concept as well as the story has been written by my wife (Twinkle Khanna) and its name is 'Pad Man'." "The story is based on a concept that 91 percent of women in India cannot afford to buy a sanitary pad.
A women goes many problems and I would like you guys to watch this movie and understand what a woman goes through," he added.
'Padman' is based on the real-life story of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented a low-cost sanitary pad making machine and helped spread awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural India.
The film also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor..
