Pak’s provincial govt. offering free Chinese language course to boost employment in CPEC

Peshawar [Pakistan], Feb. 18 : The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Government in Pakistan has started offering Chinese language courses to its people for free of cost in order to secure them a job in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

According to Pakistan daily, the Express Tribune, the government would be offering the language courses at five government technical institutions namely Government Polytechnic Institute Peshawar, Government College of Technology Peshawar, Government College of Technology Charsadda, Government College of Technology Nowshera and Fazaia Degree College Peshawar.

Reportedly, two language courses have already begun in the government-run institutions. The daily quoted Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TEVTA-KP) Chairman and Chief Minister's Special Assistant Arshad Ali Umarzai saying that the provincial government took the decision after talks were held between Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and a Chinese delegation.

The primary objective of the decision, Umarzai was quoted as saying, is to provide employment to the youth in the CPEC project.
