New Delhi [India], Mar 24 : With the announcement of Rs. 978.84 crore for the social sector, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said that Goa will be made a garbage free state by 2020.
The minister in his budget speech said the focus is on revamping the entire education system and special emphasis will be on building advanced integrated educational complexes at Margao and Mapusa.
Parrikar announced a special voluntary retirement scheme for the government servants. He also expressed his anticipation on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) by announcing a withdrawal in the entry free at the state borders.
Notifying the regional plan for 2021, Parrikar announced a 30 percent reservation for Goans in all housing projects.
He announced allocation of Rs. 150 crore for setting up burns unit in Goa Medical College. Primary health centre will be upgraded with more beds. A new primary health centre will be set up..
