New Delhi, Dec 23 : A fire broke out in a hospital here on Saturday with one patient receiving minor burn injuries, according to a fire officer.
A police officer said the Delhi Fire Service control room received a call about the fire on the second floor of Metro Hospital at Preet Vihar in east Delhi and 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
"The fire was reported around 3.20 p.m.
and doused at 5.40 p.m. During evacuation, a patient received burn injuries and was shifted to nearby Max hospital, while 84 patients have been safely evacuated and shifted to the hospital's Noida branch," the officer said.
"Prima facie it looks like a short circuit caused the fire," the officer said.
