New Delhi, July 25 : After a not-so-convincing debut in Bollywood and a series of flop films, Prateik Babbar, who is now planning to try his hand in theatres, has said that he would love to work with his mother Nadira.
When asked as to why is he not making his theatre debut with Ekjute, the group owned by his mother, the 29-year-old actor told DNA, "My mother Nadira is a disciplinarian and it would be an enriching experience to work with her.
But for now, I am not taking any advice from her or my sister Juhi." Adding to it, the 'Issaq' actor talked about the time when he took up classes at 'Ekjute' and then what ended his journey there.
"I did attend some workshops with Ekjute when I was much younger, but left them midway as I had started shooting for films.
Ekjute is homeground for me," he said. Currently, Prateik has been taking acting classes with Jeff Goldberg for the last nine months and is super excited about his upcoming play that is based on LB Hamilton's, 'A Midnight Clear' and was composed in 1940.
Further, talking about the plot of the play and nature of his character, the 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' actor said, "I play Rahul, a cricket player in love with Siddhant, the owner of an IPL team.
Circumstances take them apart and Rahul gets married to a woman because of society pressure. A couple of years later, he gets to know that Siddhant has been raped and the ex-lovers meet again, only to realise that they can't be together." Realizing the boldness of the character and its possible impact, Pratiek said he is ready for the challenge.
