New Delhi, [India], Jan. 25 : President Pranab Mukherjee extending his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of Australia on the eve of their National Day today, said that he is confident that the growing cooperation between the two nations will contribute to the mutual understanding as well as the continued development and progress of the Asia Pacific region.
In a message to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd.), the President said, "On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with pleasure that I extend warm greetings to you and to the people of Australia on the occasion of your National Day".
"I am confident that our growing cooperation will also diversify into new areas of our shared interest and contribute to the mutual understanding between the two countries as well as the continued development and progress of the Asia Pacific region," the President added.
He wished for the success and well-being of the people of Australia..
