New Delhi [India], Feb.8 : The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee paid floral tributes to Dr. Zakir Hussain, former President of India on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (February 8, 2017).
The President, officers and staff paid floral tributes in front of a portrait of Dr. Zakir Hussain in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Zakir Husain was the third President of India, from May 13, 1967 until his death on May 3, 1969. An educator and intellectual, Husain was the country's first Muslim president, and also the first to die in office.
