Karachi [Pakistan], Feb.8 :Former South Africa skipper Johan Botha has been roped in as Islamabad United's fielding coach for the upcoming second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the franchise's management confirmed.
The 34-year-old will replace Australia's Darren Berry, who was unavailable for the upcoming season of PSL due to family commitments.
Reflecting on Botha's appointment, Berry said that the former would be a perfect replacement of him and would surely be a good addition to an outstanding coaching staff.
"However, in Johan Botha, United has a former international captain and someone whom I've worked with for years.
I am sure that he will be the perfect replacement and will add to an outstanding coaching staff. I wish him and the rest of the Islamabad United guys every success in PSL 2," the Dawn quoted Berry as saying.
Botha, who has previously led the South Australia side, will join Dean Jones, Tauseef Ahmed, Dean Woodford and Wasim Akram in Islamabad United's coaching staff.
This season's PSL is slated to be held from February 9, with Lahore hosting the final match on March 5.
