Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Feb 21 : Seven naxals were killed in an encounter with the Police force in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
Huge amount of arms and ammunition have also been recovered. Confirming the encounter, Special Director General of Police (anti-Maoist operations), DM Awasthi said that the clash took place in the forests of Pushpal village of Narayanpur.
"Many Naxals have been killed in the encounter; seven dead bodies, two rifles, and many weapons and other things have been recovered.
Based on a tip off Narayanpur district's DRG and its forces were sent. This is a big success. The forces have gone in the dangerous areas and completed their task. Since 2016 many naxals have been killed (and) many weapons have been recovered," said Awasthi. Pushpal, which falls in restive Abhujmad area, is located around 350 km from the state capital Raipur.
After the guns fell silent, security forces searched the area and recovered the bodies of seven ultras besides two Insas rifles and other weapons.
