Six doors of Manjra Dam opened in Maharashtra

Osmanabad (Maharashtra) [India], Sept. 26 : Six doors of Manjra Dam in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra were opened this morning. The engineer informed that 250 cusecs of water is being released from the dam. Villagers residing near the bank of the river has been alerted. In Nanded, nine doors of Vishnupuri Dam have also been opened and 3,393 cusecs of water is being released.

Villagers residing near Godavari Bank have been alerted. After almost six years, the water woes of Marathwada in Maharashtra seems to be over as the rain this year has helped the region to restore the water level in the reservoirs.

This year special arrangements had been made to supply water to Latur which was facing severe water crisis.

Water was supplied by water trains to Latur during summer. But the rain in last week has helped Marathwada to get the sigh of relief at least for this year..
