New Delhi [India], Feb. 15 : Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday congratulated the scientists of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the path breaking and historic launch of 104 satellites under the PSLV-C37/Cartosat -2 Series Mission.
Acknowledging the proud moment for India, the Congress released an official statement from Sonia Gandhi in which she hailed the ISRO saying that "India has led the world in space and scientific achievements and this momentous feat by our scientists has once again made the entire nation proud".
"All the scientists and supporting staff of the ISRO involved and instrumental in contributing to the space science research programmes have once again honoured the vision of our forefathers who always stood to build a scientific temper for the country," the Congress president said.
"This illustrious accomplishment has added one more feather in the cap of our hard working scientists," she added.
Earlier, the ISRO launched a record number of 104 satellites including Cartostat-2 in one go on board a single rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
The satellites will be injected into sun synchronous orbit at different slots at different angles and at different times.
