Centurion [South Africa], Aug.30 : Fast bowler Dale Steyn scalped his 26th five-wicket haul as South Africa claimed a comprehensive 204-run win over New Zealand on the fourth day of the second and final Test to seal the two-match series 1-0 here at SuperSport Park on Tuesday.
Chasing a daunting target of 400 runs, New Zealand were bundled out for mere 195 runs in their second innings despite some stiff resistance from Henry Nicholls (76).
Nicholas, who was the last man out after batting for almost 255 minutes, was well supported by BJ Watling (32) and Doug Bracewell (30).
Steyn took three wickets with his first 11 balls of the innings and finished with five for 33 on day four, which also saw New Zealand lose their top four batsmen for just seven runs.
Besides Steyn, Vernon Philander and Kagiso Rabada notched up two wickets a piece while Dane Piedt chipped in with a wicket.
Earlier in a day, South Africa declared their second innings at 132 for seven, with `Man of the Match` Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma contributing 50 and 40 respectively.
The opening match between the two sides ended in a draw after wet outfield spoiled the fifth day's play at Kingsmead.
