New Delhi [India], Sept 6 : India football captain Sunil Chhetri has confirmed that he will be donning the Mumbai City FC jersey again in the forthcoming Indian Super League season.
The 32-year-old striker was the top scorer for Mumbai FC last season with seven goals and is currently in a rich vein of form as he scored a goal in India's resounding 4-1 victory over higher-ranked Puerto Rico in the international friendly last week.
"Mumbai, first of all thank you lots for all the love and support that we received against Puerto Rico.
I'm pretty happy to announce that in this upcoming season of Hero ISL 2016, I'll be donning the Mumbai City FC jersey again.
I'm really excited and looking forward to it," said Chhetri on Mumbai City FC's official Twitter page after re-signing.
Chhetri became the most expensive Indian player at the auctions last year when Mumbai City FC secured the signature of the country's all-time scorer for a whopping Rs 1.2 crore.
He also became the first Indian to score a hat-trick last season when he netted thrice against NorthEast United FC.
