Mumbai [India], Feb.3 :Defending champions India continued their imperious form in the ongoing T20 World Cup for the Blind as they crushed South Africa by nine wickets in their fifth match at the Bandra Kurla Complex on Friday.
Chasing a target of 158 runs, India lost Durga Rao cheaply for 19 runs before opener Iqbal Jafar and first drop Muhammed Farhan joined forced to steady their side's innings.
Jafar (54 off 29 balls) and Farhan (59 off 35 balls) not only smashed quick-fire half-centuries but also stitched a crucial 93-run partnership for the second wicket to help India chase down the target in just 13.5 overs.
Earlier, South Africa posted an average score of 157-8 in their stipulated 20 overs after opting to bat first, with David Landry (42*) contributing maximum runs for the visitors.
For India, Ganesh Babubhai Mundakar bagged two wickets while Venkateswara Rao D and Sonu Galkar chipped in with a wicket each.
India, who have four wins from five games they have played so far, will now lock horns with Sri Lanka at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad tomorrow.
