New Delhi [India], Oct. 25 : A three day Conference of Naval Commanders will begin today in New Delhi, where the top-level leadership of the Navy will review the prevailing as well as emerging operational and functional issues at the conference.
It assumes greater significance in the backdrop of recent events that have brought issues related to country's defence under sharper focus.
Indian Navy, like the other two Armed Forces, is required to maintain a high degree of operational preparedness to deter any threat aimed at the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
Defence Ministry in a release said, the meeting will be utilised by the Operational Commanders to examine and analyse different paradigms related to operations, training and resource-availability for meeting the wide range of tasking and expectations.
As part of Navy's future force-level planning, the Conference will examine a series of measures under the Make in India scheme and recommend ways to further indigenise defence procurement to overcome the current challenges.
The Commanders will also delve on the Navy's roadmap for the future, including key technology enablers, improved logistics and digitisation.
