Tamil Nadu [India], Feb.22 : To protest against Chief Minister Edapaddi K. Palanisamy's trust vote, Opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) begun their hunger strike protest here today, over the recent ruckus that took place in Tamil Nadu Assembly few days ago.
DMK's working president M.K.Stalin is leading the strike, as he had earlier announced that his party will launch a state-wide hunger strike.
He has urged people from all walks of life to participate and raise their voice against the development, which he has deemed as 'injustice'.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court will hear the DMK's plea which claims that the trust vote is unconstitutional.
This comes after All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)'s Palanisamy won a dramatic floor test few days ago, with the speaker thrown out the opposition DMK members for violence and Congress legislators walked out of the house.
Papers were torn and chairs were thrown during the ruckus in the house..
