Transgender women’s killing raise fear in New Orleans

New Orleans [United States], Mar. 2 : Fear has gripped New Orleans' transgender community after two transgender women were reportedly killed within 48 hours.

CNN quoted WDSU as reporting that Chyna Gibson was gunned down on Saturday night, whereas the second woman was found with multiple stab wounds on Monday morning.

So far, no arrests have been made in the two cases. Transgender activist Daphanie Dupree described the situation of the transgender community as 'scary'. According to a police official, the two killings depict a rise in violence against the transgender community in the city.
