U.S. Senate intel panel subpoenas Michael Flynn

Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], May 11 : The Senate intelligence committee has issued a subpoena to former national security advisor Michael Flynn for documents regarding his interactions with Russian officials, CNN reports.

The development comes a day after United States President Donald Trump, in a bid to sweep away the man who is responsible for an investigation into whether members of his campaign team colluded with Russia in its interference in last year's elections, fired FBI director James Comey.

The subpoena cames as a result of Flynn's lawyer Robert Kelner alerting the panel that he would not provide documents in response to their April 28 request.
