Kingston, July 28 : Uncapped fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been named in the 14-man West Indies squad for the second Test of the four-match series against India beginning on Saturday at Jamaica's Sabina Park.
The 19-year-old has appeared only in 12 matches at senior level, including eight first-class matches in which he notched up a total of 24 wickets at an average of 24.45.
Joseph seems to have got the nod in the West Indies squad following his impressive show in the Under-19 World Cup winning campaign in February.
He was the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, having scalped a total of 13 wickets at an average of 13.76.
Joseph's inclusion means there will be another genuine pace option for West Indies, which began the series with a bowling attack that contained only one genuine quick in Shannon Gabriel,ESPNcricinfo reported.
Besides Joseph, West Indies have made no other changes to the squad. The Caribbean side are trailing one-nil in the series following their massive defeat by an innings and 92 runs in the opening Test against Virat Kohli's side in Antigua.
