Washington D.C [US], Feb. 22 : More than 200 people have been charged with rioting in connection with Inauguration Day protests in Washington last month.

Five individuals were charged on Tuesday by a grand jury in Washington D.C., in addition to the 209 who have already been indicted in connection the case, reports CNN.

The accused have been charged of using "Black Bloc" tactic where people conceal their identities with dark black clothing.

The protest over inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump on January 20 turned violent after "anti-fascist" agitators created ruckus in the streets and vandalised stores, bus stops and eventually pelted stones at the police.

The police officers in retaliation dropped smoke bombs and flash-bang devices to disperse the protesting crowd.
