Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb. 12 : Promising to free Uttar Pradesh from the prevailing 'jungle raj' and corruption, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Sunday said that if her party comes to power then an inspection will be done of all major economic decisions taken during the Samajwadi Party's rule and apt action will be taken.
Continuing her tirade against the Samajwadi Party, the former chief minister assured a thorough investigation into all government job-related recruitments made during Akhilesh Yadav's tenure.
Mayawati also used the occasion to woo the farming community and other small-scale workers while promising to waive off the debt under Rs.
one lakh if she comes to power. Mayawati, who was addressing an election rally in Hardoi, also assured the voters that the BSP would no more invest in construction of any statue or museum in the state.
"If my party comes to power, all efforts will be directed towards protection of local residents," she added.
She also promised to give a generous section of the state's budget for development and welfare of Hardoi.
The seven-phase voting in Uttar Pradesh began on February 11 and will conclude on March 8. Votes in the politically crucial state will be declared on March 11..
