New Delhi [India], Nov. 16 : Accusing the Centre of creating chaos through the demonetisation of higher currency notes, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Wednesday said Prime Minister Modi's mother wouldn't have had to stand in a queue had the preparations been better.
"Prime Minister Modi would not have to resort emotional drama and not had to send his old mother to stand in a queue if they would have prepared to handle the situation," Mayawati said in the Rajya Sabha.
Mayawati also raised question about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader G. Janardhana Reddy spending Rs. 500 crores on his daughter's wedding and sought an answer from the Centre as why no action have been taken action against him as yet.
"The Prime Minister said the government has been preparing for demonetisation since 10 months, that is enough time, still situation is out of control.
The fact is that these ten months were used to handle black money accumulated by BJP leaders and industrialists," she said.
The Rajya Sabha discussed demonetisation on the opening day of the Winter Session. The Upper House suspended the listed business for the day on the demand of opposition parties. Prime Minister Modi earlier today called for a healthy debate on various issues, including the Goods and Services Tax (GST) during the Winter Session of Parliament.
